I am 39, divorced and mother to three children. When I hit 40 I will probably remove the former descriptive sentence from my bio, or atleast until I reach a comfort level with that identifier. I attend school full-time and will graduate in May with my BSW (I intend to continue on to obtain my MSW, btw). Hence, I fall under the label of “non-traditional college student”. Frankly, I feel pretty traditional in most things: love, manners, parenting … I guess I am a little unorthodox in some of the things which come out of my mouth at times. Yet, it is always meant to inform, empower, enhance or encourage … so if something offends, remember the motivation behind the words. More importantly, remember your life and value as an individual do not rest on my opinion. And please, know that I welcome opposing viewpoints … that’s how one learns and grows. I only ask that you remember, you don’t have to be disagreeable to disagree. I may be contacted at thomaslm@iupui.edu should you have insights, comments or opposing viewpoints you prefer not to post publicly.

What a wonderful outlook you have on life … already.
Your comment about the attitude of disagreement is excellent. It makes me think of a quote that I try to remember, especially when around someone being difficult.
“Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle”.
